The firm recognizes the issues faced by up-and-coming designers and as such, it is suggesting that fashion stores should support new talent -- and improve customer proposal at the same time -- giving consumers the chance to election for the label they would possib to see in the outlet.

Jim Moody, marketing manager at the company, explains that there are several positive aspects to implementing this approach.
"Whilst most fashion retailers get caught up with the latest trends, customers do not have any say in which designer’s clothes are stocked. Our proposal for retailers to use ballot boxes to give consumers the chance to election for their favourite collection can have tangible benefits" he states.
Mr Moody continues: "Firstly, customers will feel empowered insurance agencies their own say in which designer’s outfits appear on the display stands in the store. Secondly, the retailer can be confident of making sales because consumers formerly expressed a pursuit in the outfits on offer.
"And finally, it presents a great chance of new designers to get out there and make a name for themselves"
While the effect is likely to boost sales, there is the opportunity to increase footfall in the store well before the winner of the election is announced, Mr Moody notes.
"Retailers can showcase a few select items from two or three designers in-store in the weeks running up to the close of the ballot, giving consumers time to browse before making a decision. In-store paper prints and some good, local ADVERTISING -- as well as ballot slipping and boxes by all the tills -- is likely to generate substantial interest" he comments.
The voting does not have to be limited to your existing customers -- making creative use of window displays and shop equipments, including mannequins, to effectively highlight the outfits on show can also help encourage individuals to come in off the street and cast their election, Mr Moody adds.
